Let’s start this post by backtracking through October. October was crazy. I don’t even remember parts of it happening. I was home and sleeping in my own bed 3 nights out of the whole month and I’m not proud of that. I think that’s sad and I don’t do the whole “BUSY as a badge of Honor” thing. I know it’s not normal or healthy or impressive…. but “BUSY” has been the story of our life these last 6 weeks. CreativeLive, The Workshop Experience, UNITED, Pursuit, Bahamas, MTH, The Blink Conference, Creative at Heart… these are all of the things, outside of weddings, that I’ve agreed to be a part of this fall and it’s a lot. I know it’s a lot. However, I also know that it is an HONOR to have a chance to influence so many different pockets of people. This is our season for this. This is what God has for us…. but God also knows our limits and when we start to depend on ourselves. :)
Finding the balance of what to say yes to and what to say no to has always been a difficult point for me. It’s hard…. but you know what, sometimes things happen in your life that MAKE you stop right in your tracks. If you follow me on Instagram you already know this…. but I have Pneumonia. I came home from the Making Things Happen Conference and just didn’t feel like myself… I was also coughing up a lung!
So we went and had X-rays done and sure enough, I was sicker than I thought. I walked out of the Patient-First in tears because I knew this meant that I would have to cancel a lot of things. I was SO upset about calling and having to cancel a speaking commitment that I walked RIGHT past the checkout desk and totally forgot to pay my deductible!! Patient First is going to be after me!!
As miserable as I felt and as sick as I was… There is one positive…. We’re staying home for a few days. Michael took care of me and I lived in sweatpants and stayed in bed. The antibiotic did its thing and I was feeling better after 48 hours of NOTHING. Saturday we actually hopped on a plane and flew to Texas to be a part of the Blink Conference and it was awesome! Now we’re home again and we’re prepping for the BIGGEST WEBINAR OF OUR CAREER!!!!! Guys, almost 7,000 people have signed up!!! WHAT?!!!!!! Who ARE all these people!? I’m so excited to meet them online tonight at 8 pm EST! I’ve been prepping and preparing for this webinar AND our big announcement for some time now… I can’t believe it’s here! It’s happening! Everyone start praying RIGHT now that we don’t have technical difficulties!! :)
So what is the lesson I have learned this week? PNEUMONIA is something that has the power to CLEAR MY CALENDAR and it also has the power of keeping my husband up all night because of my coughing fits. I’m not saying that I have enjoyed being sick… but I have enjoyed having a chance to BREATHE for a few days!!! I’m thankful to Michael for taking care of me and making sure I made it to Texas in one piece. I’m thankful for friend’s who texted and sent edible arrangements! I’m thankful for a puppy that knows when I sick and snuggles closer and I’m thankful to be on the mend!! My cough sounds horrendous but I’m feeling like myself and that’s a win!!!
So as I sign off for the day…. I did want to say this…. IF YOU’RE NOT SIGNED UP FOR THE FREE WEBINAR TONIGHT…. WHY NOT?! I mean 7,000 other people are doing it so join us!! It’s going to be a great time with some awesome free editing tips and one BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! If you think we’re pregnant, you obviously haven’t seen the webinar video! :) Take a look here and sign up if you haven’t already!!
A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
