You’re not going to believe this, but we actually thought this shoot wasn’t going to happen because of weather! We had checked the radar on the way down to Williamsburg and everything looked clear…. but then all of a sudden it started to pour, and our phones dinged with a severe weather warning. It came out of nowhere!! We were hopeful that the storm would pass in time but the radar didn’t look very promising. We were sitting in the parking lot while it poured and then miraculously, right at 6pm, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared, and the sun started glowing through the trees!! It was amazing!!
As soon as we met up with Matt and Brooke there were some soft, wispy clouds that the sun started shining through, and it was glorious! Light after a summer storm is the best, and we had so much of it at the beginning of their session. It was the most wonderful way to start a shoot!
I loved getting to know these two. They treated us to our very first Cheese Shop experience, and I have to say I’m very embarrassed that it took us so long! I’ve heard about the infamous Cheese Shop ever since my college days. My roommate Britney was obsessed with Cheese Shop bread and sauce, and now I know why! It was amazing!
Matt and Brooke are getting married next year, and we are so excited that we get the opportunity to be a part of their day. Every time we spend time with one of our new couples I’m amazed at how God keeps sending such sweet people into our lives! We not only left their session with sandwiches in hand, but we also left with the cutest outfits for Baby Graham! We are so loved and spoiled!!
Matt and Brooke, I hope you love some of my favorites from your shoot! I’m still in awe of the light and weather that we ended up with!!!!
Marketing for a wedding photography business isn’t just different—it’s in a league of its own.
I’ll never forget the morning I woke up for my very first wedding.
It’s spring break. Which, for many people, might mean rest and reset. But in our world right now? It feels more like we’re standing in the middle of a winding, messy, beautiful chapter of our own Hero’s Journey—and the stretch is very, very real.
This week has been… a lot.
Personally, professionally, and spiritually, I’ve felt stretched, unsettled, and oddly grateful—all at the same time.
There’s something about spring that just feels like change.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you’re editing photos late at night, maybe sprawled out on the couch or even in bed? You feel like you’re on a roll, everything looks fantastic, and then morning hits.
