This beautiful wedding day took place in the rolling hills of West Virginia, just past the Virginia state line. Wild Goose Farm is a venue that I’ve never photographed before and let me tell you, it was a treat! We didn’t even have the sun join us for most of the day and yet we were able to capture beautiful portraits! Between the horses, old fences, stunning estate home, lily pad covered pond, old stone walls, rustic barn, open fields and a historic stone arch, I was in photographer heaven!
We absolutely loved being a part of Brian and Shannon’s wedding day! Brian is Michael’s youngest cousin and I specifically remember his mom telling us about Shannon when they first started dating. She loved her and so did we. After meeting her for the first time, Michael and I both said, “We hope she’s the one!”…. and she was! Shannon is kind, smart, driven, funny and just overall the sweetest person to add into our family. Not only is she all of those things, she’s also gorgeous. I have been looking forward to capturing her as a bride since the day we found out that Brian had popped the question!!!
Their wedding day was simple, classy and filled with so much joy! Some people ask us if we’re truly able to enjoy family weddings when we’re photographing them and the answer is yes! We love it and we consider it such an honor to be the ones preserving the memories of their day. We loved doing our thing while also being surrounded by so many of Michael’s family members!! As you scroll through these images, enjoy seeing the highlights of their day and if you look closely, you may see some family members you recognize sprinkled throughout the images!!! Enjoy!

I feel like I just wrote last week’s update, but somehow, another Friday is here. Time flies when life is full… and right now? Life is really full.
Every Friday, I’m sharing “Where I Am”—personally, spiritually, and professionally—because I believe in sharing the journey while I’m in it, not just when I have all the answers tied up in a neat little bow.
Sixteen years ago, I had no budget for marketing. Zero. None at all!
So I did the only thing I could think of—I started sharing my life.
Ever felt that wave of anxiety before a photoshoot—the kind that makes your mind race with thoughts like What if I freeze? What if I run out of ideas? What if my clients feel awkward?
When it comes to wedding photography, the right lens can make all the difference. But let’s be honest—gear can get expensive. So when Canon introduced the RF 85mm f/2.0—a lens with portrait, macro, and image stabilization capabilities for just $500—I knew I had to put it to the test.
Have you ever started a session, camera in hand, and suddenly felt stuck? Your couple is standing there, looking at you, waiting for direction… and your mind goes blank.
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
