This weekend was a double header weekend for us. Some photographers don’t enjoy shooting back to back weddings but we actually don’t mind it at all. We have come to love getting a lot done in one weekend and then getting to take a weekend off later in the summer!! However, I will say that it is easy to love double headers when you’re working with awesome couples. I wish I had kept count of all of the times I looked at Michael on Ryan and Sarah’s wedding day and said “Gosh, they are just the sweetest!”. They truly are the sweetest couple you’ll ever meet.
We loved getting to know them at their engagement session and we were looking forward to their wedding day but we actually got to see them two days before the wedding when they stopped by the house to drop off a parking pass! (UVA is awesome… but not when it comes to parking! So thankful these two thought ahead!) They rang our doorbell and we got a chance to chat before the wedding day arrived and I just loved it! I never get to see brides right before their big day because things are normally just CRAZY! But this was such a fun surprise! Just to prove to you how sweet and thoughtful they are, they gave us gifts BEFORE we ever photographed their day! Like I said, they’re the sweetest!
Ryan and Sarah’s wedding day was inspired by Sarah’s scottish roots. I could have listened to her parent’s accents all day long! Family members flew in from Scotland and even Dubai! There was ivy incorporated into the bouquets and even the UVA chapel looked like it could have been located on an European hill side! Between the stone chapel and the gorgeous estate at Oak Ridge, this wedding was a DREAM! I kept yelling from behind my camera “I’m in heaven you guys! This is photography heaven!!”. It was true! You’ll see what I mean in a minute!
Ryan and Sarah’s love for one other is the kind of love that makes you want to go and hug your husband and tell him you love him. :) It’s radiant and it’s so genuine. Photographing their wedding day made me fall in love with my job all over again and I told them that! The cute thing was that Sarah was a bit weepy all day so on multiple occasions when I exclaimed how perfect their day was, she started tearing up all over again!! Ryan was there in true Ryan fashion with a tie-dyed handkerchief to dry her tears. :) Enjoy this beautiful Oak Ridge Estate wedding in the rolling hills outside of Charlottesville! It’s going to take your breath away!
Oh Sarah WOW!
When he drops to his knees, I think it’s safe to assume that he think’s you’re stunning!
Love this so much!
The University of Virginia Chapel fit their wedding theme perfectly!
This was followed by a lot of happy tears!!
One of my favorites!
Loved this time together in the field! I MAY have been on top of my car for this shot!
The weather was PERFECT for their open air reception!
Gosh I love this!
This is why slipping out for sunset portraits is an AWESOME idea!
Ha! Michael helped demonstrate the Scottish dances! I don’t think she knew he was the photographer but it sure was entertaining!

A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
