…it’s hard to do! and not to mention overwhelming! I’ve seen SO MANY amazing save-the-date ideas and so trying to visualize what I wanted ours to look like was like design overload. I truly believe the Save-the-date is one of the hardest designs of the whole wedding. It really determines everything. I wanted to use the colors of the wedding, the style of the wedding, the theme, the overall “look” of 10.10.10 should be portrayed in these cards. It was hard! ….. but once I got it like I wanted it, I LOVED it! The wonderful Steph Fay actually just blogged a neat post about thinking ahead and planning a really awesome save-the-date! I’ll admit to you that our “thinking
ahead” involved me throwing that 10.10.10 frame idea together in 30 minutes the night before we flew out for Vegas! I was a little behind schedule but luckily, it worked and we loved the shot of us holding the sign enough to use for the save the dates! The AWESOME part is that the twigs that are behind us on the front of the card look EXACTLY like the twigs that are going to be a part of our centerpieces! Crazy! I love it when those little details match!

To future brides: I think my greatest piece of advice when it comes to designing your “Save the Date” is to make something that resembles you and your fiance’. I love really really modern designs with a few lines and a couple dots…. but that just isn’t “Us”. Michael and I love Pottery Barn, Jcrew, swirly fonts and teal! (Well maybe I just like swirly fonts and teal:) So we wanted our wedding to reflect that because it’s the style we love! Just have fun with it! Do what YOU want and be creative!!
Happy Wednesday!
A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
