There are so many facets to a business. I’m still a beginner and when I say beginner, I mean I really just know the basics. Within the business world I am a baby with no professional training. The little knowledge I have about business planning and marketing has come from workshops and reading TONS of blogs and forums. While I may never have a business degree, I will never stop learning about good business strategies. I realize that no matter how well my business is running, there is still an abundance of knowledge that is still unknown to me. This is true even for the big shots. David Jay, an incredible, well-respected photog and enterpenuer in the industry is constantly reminding me of this. If you have Twitter, you should definitely follow him. Between his tweets and Showit’s, I am constantly reminded to keep exploring, creating and imagining how to grow my business and make it my own!

A couple weeks ago I received some albums in the mail from AsukaBook. Laying on the top of my albums was this little piece of paper, explaining that “Stephanie” had personally checked my order. It seems dramatic and exaggerated, but my heart melted. I don’t know Stephanie, I don’t know the people of AsukaBook… but I feel like I do. It meant so much to know that REAL people are taking care of my products!!! THAT is not a gimmick or a sales pitch… it is true customer care. There are several vendors that I use that are a little bit pricey but their service is impeccable. It’s worth it to work with people that care… really care. I want to strive for this in my business. I want my clients to walk away from their session knowing that their photographer put 100% of her heart and soul into their images. I want brides to know that I care just as much about whether or not she is comfortable in front of the camera as I do the images I produce. It’s not about shooting “money shots” to add to the website… it’s about capturing their stories for them to cherish forever. I desire to offer more than just customer service. I want to offer a relationship and true, genuine customer care. That’s my number 1 goal for this year! Thank you AsukaBook for setting the example!
A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
