While frantically searching for our Thanksgiving centerpiece for the table, I found an old , antique box in the basement. The handle was rusted and the corners were nicked. It was my great Uncle Alvin’s chest of old trinkets and pins and CLOCKS! Oh the clocks! I found several old pocket watches of Alvin’s in the basement. All shapes and sizes! I grabbed a few of them and brought them upstairs, knowing that I wanted to do something crafty with them!
As we sat down for Thanksgiving, my future mother-in-law (crazy!) saw them and being the artsy person she is, she said “Those would look pretty on your tree!”. So as much as I would love to take credit for this cute idea, the credit goes to Bobbi! After Momma and I decorated the tree I delicately placed little clocks all over! They turned out looking really neat! So! The lesson of today’s post is to never disregard old, ancient trinkets in the basement because you never know what cool new decorative pieces they could become!
