They are both lawyers, and it’s their work that drew them together in the first place. After a series of events, they ended up working together on a project. One email led to another and before they knew it, they had been sitting at the counter of Millie’s Diner in Church Hill for over five hours! Just talking the night away! As the saying goes, the rest is history!! Richard and Katy are two of the easiest people to spend time with!
Michael and I met both of them in downtown Richmond this past week for their engagement session. We started at Richmond’s Capitol building which is one of my favorite locations to shoot because of the crisp, white backdrops! That setting creates such pure, clean images, and it was a perfect location for the two of them considering their careers in law!!
After spending two hours getting to know these two (hearing about their families, seeing pictures of the wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses, learning about their passion for cycling, etc), we said goodbye until their wedding day! That’s the sad part about engagement sessions! We have to wait SO long before we get to be around these two again for their North Carolina plantation wedding in 2018!!
As you scroll through a handful of my favorite images from their session, you’ll notice that the light was so perfect throughout the entire shoot! It was overcast when we needed it to be and glowy when we were ready to shoot some backlit portraits!! Enjoy scrolling through and seeing what I’m talking about! The light at the end of the shoot is just amazing!!!
A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
