and I were in high school, our youth group decided to go somewhere NEW for a retreat. We had been to several camps but this one was different. This camp was Watermarks. Back when I was in high school, the Critzer family had just begun this crazy project of turning their family land into a CAMP for kids, teens, adults… ANYONE who wanted to use it! We showed up, loved it and kept going back… year after year. We formed relationships with this amazing family and over 6 years later, we’re STILL going to Watermarks… only now, we’re taking OUR youth group from our new church! We just love that place but more importantly,
we love the PEOPLE. This is how I came to know Trey and Kiersten. Trey’s family owns the camp and Kiersten has been a part of camp since what seems like the beginning of time! They’ve just ALWAYS been there! I remember when they started dating YEARS ago and thinking… oh they are CUTE!! That is one CUTE couple right there! …. I had no idea I would have the honor to shoot their engagement session AND their wedding just a few years later! Gosh! I didn’t even know I was going to be a photographer back in those days!!! I’m thrilled for them… absolutely thrilled!! These two love the Lord and they live such a passion that’s contagious. I think that’s why we just LOVE being around that whole Watermark’s family…. the JOY they share is amazing and we are so privileged to call them our friends!
This session will go down in the books as a favorite for me… not just because they’re gorgeous… but because they brought an AMAZING MUSTARD YELLOW COUCH as a prop. YESSSSSSSSSSSS. It was so perfect for their “theme”. We joked that this shoot looks like “Urban Outfitters meets the Country” and that’s EXACTLY what it feels like! I love it! Trey and Kiersten, I just adore you! THANK YOU for laying down on sharp, flesh piercing rocks…. stepping in mud…. carrying a COUCH through a field …. the list could on! You guys ROCK and I’m SOOOOO ready for the wedding day to be here!!! ah! Enjoy my favorites!!! …. Lets start with one of the BEST… love this first shot!!!
