I really, REALLY love shooting at brand new venues. It’s so much fun for me and it sparks a creative side of me that I don’t get to use when I’m shooting at a familiar spot. Now don’t get me wrong, I love our familiar venues too! However, I really loved shooting at this new venue this past Friday because it was unlike any venue we have photographed this year! It included mountain views, rolling hills, a gorgeous statement fountain, a 1700’s historic home and lavender fields! What a dream!
After the majority of the day had passed, I was telling Keri’s mom how wonderful everything had been and she said that literally NOTHING could have been better! Greg and Keri had a day that most couples dream of! It was perfect weather, they had a relaxed bridal party and the most amazing ceremony! Keri’s grandpa did half of the service and married them; it was adorable! He giggled and told little jokes the entire time and it was priceless!!
Another moment that was priceless was when Greg and Keri decided to pray together during their first look. Greg didn’t cry when he first saw her… but the tears starting flowing when he started thanking God for his beautiful bride and that they had found one another. Oh it makes me teary just thinking about it! It was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day and I’m kind of sad that it’s over! That’s how amazing it was!!
Also, I just have to share this. As we were getting ready for the ceremony, the sweetest grandma stopped Michael by tapping his arm and she said “Oh you must be Michael…. you’re the TREE SHAKER!”…. referencing one of their engagement photos where there were blossoms falling from the tree. This moment may seem small and insignificant… but to us, it meant the world that not only were we friends with our couple, but we were also a house-hold name! Stories of their engagement session had been told even to grandma and we have never felt more loved and welcomed!
Enjoy scrolling through this stunning plantation wedding and let me know what your favorite part was! I think it’s safe to say I loved the LAVENDER! :) Greg and Keri, we couldn’t be more excited for you. You’ve waited for this day and this new season of life for so long and it’s finally here! You’re MARRIED! Enjoy your amazing Napa Valley honeymoon!!!

Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?

The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
