I remember talking with Eleni and her mom before they booked and they asked if I had ever photographed a Greek wedding before. I told them that I had photographed almost 200 weddings at the time but I had never worked with a Greek couple before. They proceeded to tell me everything that I should expect and after experiencing it for myself, they were spot on! Michael and I loved experiencing so many new things. From the traditional rituals at the ceremony to the dances at the Reception, we were entertained all day!!
We started the day at the Omni Hotel and then headed to the Richmond Capital grounds for portraits. It was beautiful and everything was going according to plan. Right when we were finishing up with portraits, the dark clouds rolled in and the downpour happened right as we pulled away on the trolley!! I looked at Eleni and she said “God was looking out for us!!!”. She was so right. The rain came in so fast that the wind was out of control. The amazing thing is that the bridal party only had to take about 5 steps outside from the trolley to the church and then by the time their ceremony was over, it was sunny again! It truly was perfect timing!!!
Michael and I loved getting to know these two. George and Eleni are both so caring, genuine and brilliant! They are both doctors with loving families and amazing friends… how much more could you want?! It was such an honor to be a part of their day and I’m so excited for their new life together!! They have been long distance for so long and now they finally get to start their life together as husband and wife!!! Enjoy some of my favorites from their day!
