As soon as he saw her coming down the aisle… the very long aisle, the tears started flowing. She had a long aisle to walk which gave Erik more and more time to admire his bride. The closer she came, the more the tears flowed. Brooke was stunning. Erik is a funny guy and during their engagement session I experienced that side of him. However, during their ceremony, I saw the serious side. You could tell every promise he made to her was from the very depths of his heart. He adores her.

Like I said, Brooke was stunning. Her dress fit perfectly and complimented her in every way. She was so calm, yet excited at the same time. It was as if she had a peace about her day and no stress could get in the way of that. She was marrying the love of her life and that’s all that mattered.

Brooke and Erik were married at Maymont Park in Richmond, VA and their wedding was coordinated by the wonderful ladies at Occasions. They did a fabulous job and made the wedding day such a breeze.
Enjoy a “few” favorites. (I think I’ll get better at narrowing down blog posts NEXT wedding season!) haha
Check out that Boutonniere!
Brooke’s flowers were beautiful! Probably one of my favorite bouquet shots.
So this isn’t the most amazing shot in the world, but It’s awesome because there is a bright red cardinal flying just to the right of them!
One of my 2009 goals is to get better at handling light. A cloudy day is a piece of cake! It’s a little more difficult when there is awesome evening light to use! I had great practice with this wedding. The light was SO good.
My favorite of the day!
Ok, I LOVE THIS shot. I’m weird, I know…they are missing their heads! But I love the creaminess and the color… I just love it.
A couple reception shots…
fun cake!
They definitely left in style! That’s a 1960’s Bentley!

Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
