We had to cancel their engagement session the first time because it was going to storm. So last week Michael and I drove up to Alexandria to meet up with Jason and Linsey and it was about to storm AGAIN!! What?! The clouds were dark gray and the wind was starting to blow harder. “Great!” I thought. We HAVE to make this happen but this is looking bad! Well, we headed downtown and the storm passed just in time and we were in the clear.
Well, we were wrong. We had a perfect hour of “glow” and then the clouds started to move in again. Thankfully Jason, Linsey, Riley (their sweet 12 year old pup!) and Linsey’s mom were willing to take a risk and still shoot with the ominous clouds forming overhead. We made it to one of their favorite spots in Old Town just in time. This location is hidden and I had no idea it existed! I have shot so many engagement sessions in Alexandria and not once have I seen this point!! I loved having a new space to shoot!
Jason and Linsey were quick to catch on to the poses and they trusted me even when I’m sure certain poses felt awkward. They always do! The first 20 minutes take some getting used to but after that, everyone becomes a pro! Jason and Linsey weren’t any different. They were so good that even though we walked for a good 20 minutes and then the storm cut our shooting time a bit short, they still have SO many portraits!! (That’s because of their great posing skills!)
So besides the tornado warning that creeped up on us, this shoot was perfect and I can’t wait to show you my favorites! Jason, Linsey and Riley are one cute family and I’m so thankful that we got to meet them before their big day! The are going to have such a beautiful wedding!!! Enjoy!
This is a favorite!!!!

So calm! What you can’t see are the dark clouds rolling in! So glad we got to shoot these!
