I have been doing this for almost 2 years and so I have been constantly surrounded by weddings and new marriages and excitement. However, now that we are gearing up for our own wedding, it has recently hit me just how much people love to celebrate weddings. I mean, I think showers are awesome but when Momma told me back in August that I would probably have several showers, I didn’t understand. I know everyone is excited for us but I never expected to be shown SO MUCH love! People taking time out of their busy schedules to celebrate with us is so humbling.

I keep receiving gifts in the mail from dear friends that just want us to know that they are so happy for us! It blows me away! I feel like I need write them like 4 or 5 thank you cards! I’m not exaggerating. Every time a gift comes in the mail, I open it and I say to my family “AWWWWW! Why did they do this!? This is so sweet! They thought of us! This is so exciting!! Aw, they’re so great!”. You can ask my brother Corey. He always seems to be the lucky one in the room when I have my miniature squeal-fests while opening packages. Some of you know that my love language is gifts. When someone takes time to think of me and sends me a gift, even if it’s just a letter, I am beside myself! Needless to say, this wedding celebration business is extremely exciting for me. Never have I felt so loved by long distance friends, new friends, clients, family, etc.

I’m writing this because I just received a package from past clients and dear dear friends, Matt and Laurie. I came home and saw a Crate and Barrel box sitting on the counter and guess what I did, I squealed of course! I opened the package, read the note and was so touched. Matt and Laurie have been close to my heart since their engagement session. I fell in love with them and I can’t tell you how fabulous their wedding was! Laurie has a heart of gold and this gift is only shows a tiny part of her generosity.
Look at those beautiful napkins! Teal of course!
Matt and Laurie, thank you for making my day! Michael and I are so thankful and we are honored to be able to call you friends! What an amazing couple you are! Thank you for celebrating with us! I love you both!!!
Michael and I also have some very exciting news! Out of 9,000 entries, we won an honorable mention in the Crate and Barrel Ultimate Wedding Contest! This is huge!!!!! And it’s all because of YOU GUYS! Thank you for voting and sharing and sharing some more! We are so excited to have $1000 towards our registry. Who knows, we might have some furniture after all!:) Thanks again for supporting us and celebrating along side of us. What an incredible feeling it is to have so many people excited about our big day!! I thought I knew all about wedding celebrations but I am coming to find out that there is so much more than I thought! Thank you everyone for loving on us and helping us get excited about 10.10.10!
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
