There is nothing better than finding an amazing deal…especially on clothes! When you find something you LOVE and then realize it has been marked with a little red tag, your day just gets 10x better! This happens to me ALL the time in Target! Have you seen their clearance section?! Every now and then I’ll find something that screams “buy me! I’m cheap! and therefore you need me!” I get suckered into it so often but how can you pass up a cardigan that is 75% off? My philosophy is that if I buy everything in my wardrobe gradually from clearance then it’s saving money in the end! I don’t really know if my philosophy works because right now I have a closet that is overflowing with clearance item clothes that I never wear!
.
Anyway, I do know that thrift store shopping for mason jars and vintage vinegar bottles with that philosophy DOES work. If you find them and they are cheap, you should get them because before you know it, you’ll have a collection and they make the most adorable decorations! I’ve been randomly buying these bottles and jars since we moved into our house 3 years ago and we now have quite the collection! Luckily, Newport News is famous for its’ thrift stores and flea markets. I promise you, you will always be able to find mason jars at a flea market! They’re everywhere and they’re normally very cheap! Much cheaper than buying multiple flower vases for $6.99 a piece! So If you’re into the “shabby/chic” look and don’t mind shopping at thrift stores and flea markets, try using some old mason jars and vinegar bottles to decorate with!
These jars and bottles were all bought at thrift stores and flea markets and never cost over $1.50! I love the short ones! And many thanks to my roommate Kelley for allowing me to steal her sunflowers for a few minutes! Aren’t they beautiful?!
Having a variety of shapes and sizes can make for awesome arrangements. Just imagine this display as a centerpiece for a small, country wedding!
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?

Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
