If you’ve been following my updates since I got the R6 two years ago, you know I LOVE it!! It has been a game changer for me! But there is ONE mistake that I’ve made that cannot be fixed afterwards!
While I’m shooting, it’s amazing that I can look through the viewfinder on my R6 and see exactly what the picture is going to look like BEFORE I take the picture! It’s easy to change the settings though and not even realize it! This has happened during a wedding, engagement session and family session!! I was moving too fast and didn’t catch this!
This can cause motion blur or camera shake!
My aperture is the first thing I set based on how many people I’m photographing and the style I’m going for. It’s something that I set and forget if I’m shooting in the same location! Typically I will shoot at 2.0 and I don’t change that. Next, I set my ISO! I typically will set that as low as possible, and I don’t change that either..
So for the most part, I’m focusing on posing, interacting and engaging the clients and I’m not paying attention to the photos or meter exactly like I used to with my mirrorless R6 vs. DSLR.
It’s only when I get home and realize the photos aren’t sharp or they are slightly out of focus! And this cannot be fixed in post! Ahhhhh
So I want to save you from making this same mistake!
Watch the video below to see how I am making sure this doesn’t happen in the future!
