We took a right into Pippin Hill’s drive way and that’s when we saw them…. the MASSES! There were massive amounts of people hanging out in the 72 degree weather all over the property. I’ve photographed at Pippin Hill Farm multiple times and I have NEVER seen it so crowded. It was impressive!! They had parking attendants working throughout the afternoon while visitors came for lunch, wine tasting and picnicking! As soon as I entered the bridal suite I told Kate that she had one of the most gorgeous wedding days I had seen in a long time.
Not only did John and Kate have one of the most gorgeous days, they also had one of the most easy-going wedding days thanks to Cindy from A. Dominick Events! One thing that I’ve realized over the 7+ years of photographing weddings is that if you want a stress-free day, you have to have an awesome planner and a relaxed bride who TRUSTS her vendors! Kate was definitely this type of bride. She cared about details but yet she trusted all of us to take care of everything so that she could be fully present and enjoy her day. I loved watching Kate see her day unfold. From the reception decor to the seeing John at the first look and even hearing the first song that the strings trio played. When she heard that first song, there were tears… lots of them!
Another aspect of their day that I loved was their family and their sense of humor! John’s laugh is contagious and Kate’s family is full of INCREDIBLE dancers! The energy on the dance floor was insane and it never stopped… the entire night! If there is any couple who deserves such a day of celebration and excitement, it’s John and Kate. We loved working with them and I delayed leaving at the end of the night because I just didn’t want to have to say goodbye!! It’s couples like this who make us fall in love with what we do all over again!! Enjoy this gorgeous Charlottesville wedding and let me know what part you loved most!!
I just love her diamond! Who wouldn’t!?
Sisters! I love this!
Gahhhh! That DRESS!!
The sweetest reaction!
Didn’t Southern Blooms knock it out of the park with these?!
I went into this wedding thinking “I want a NEW portrait spot at Pippin!”. I just wanted to keep it fresh and do something new and so I tried this little spot and I LOVE it!

Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
