When I attended WPPI this year I had no idea what was in store for me. I knew I would meet amazing photographers and would be completely overwhelmed with information but I never expected to find such an AMAZING Christian community. Photographer’s Unite is a group started by David Jay and some other West Coast photographers that wanted to form a way for Christian photographers to come together and connect. They didn’t want to create a networking group or host a monthly business strategy meeting, they just wanted photographers to come together and create awesome friendships.
At WPPI, Showit held a Photographer’s Unite worship service and it blew me away. There are so many photographers from all over the country that love the Lord! Not only do they love the Lord but they love sharing their lives with people! One photographer couple that just amazed me with their kindness and genuine hearts were Zach and Jody Gray from Nashville. Their willingness to love on people and form friendships was awesome and I want to be like that. I want to be a photographer that desires to “collect” other photographer friends! I want to get to know other people who share my same passion, who spend wayyyy too much time with their imac and who need advice on balancing family/work/business. We need each other and I think it’s about time that us VA,MD,DC photographers get together!

Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
