Well, I realize this isn’t normal for KJ! I don’t shoot portraits these days but this session was my first non-wedding shoot with my new Canon R6 and I’m obsessed with how these images turned out! It was the most perfect evening for this early fall shoot and the light was incredible!
The day Katherine and Nick emailed me asking if there was any chance that I would be available for a maternity session was the same day when our team had been talking about taking on a maternity session so that our KJ All Access members would have a fun change of pace in their episodes! When Nick and Katherine agreed to allow us to teach with their shoot, we were thrilled to 1. have a different style of portrait session coming up and 2. to have an opportunity to see such sweet friends again! Nick and Katherine are the type of couple that you feel like you’ve always known. They are so easy to talk to, so easy to laugh with and so wonderful to spend time with! Seeing them about to enter into a new season of life was so incredibly special. We don’t often get to see our couples in their seasons of growing their families and since we’re still in that same season of life, it was so easy to connect with their reality. I remember the days of being pregnant with Evy. It was my first baby and everything seemed so new and unknown…. but also SO exciting. We shared with them how special it is to have a little girl as your first and talked about our birth stories and they shared what they hope for for theirs. It was just the best evening together and we left feeling so thankful for the people God brings into our lives through our business!
Nick and Katherine, you are going to be the most incredible parents to this sweet baby girl! We are cheering for you and we can’t wait to hear the news that she has arrived!!!!
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
