We’re gearing up for wedding season and there are so many ways to market yourself DURING a wedding to keep new clients coming in! I have been a wedding photographer for 13 years, and I have never paid for ‘traditional’ advertising!
If you have 1 bride, and you give them the most AMAZING client experience.. Well there could be 1 bridesmaid and 1 groomsmen who are engaged or know someone looking for a wedding photographer! Just from that 1 connection- you can continue to market yourself and grow your reach! If you are intentional with your client experience and invest in them, the word of mouth marketing will have a huge ripple effect for your business!
So I’m going to give you 10 different tips on how you can be intentional with every wedding you do! You don’t need to do them all, and you might not see results right away but in the long run these can be game changers!!
Most of your couples have never planned a wedding before! Set yourself up to be the expert and this will add trust and value to your relationship.
Whether the timeline is an hour behind, there are no details set out, or the rain has just started.. be calm and assure the bride everything will be okay! The power of posing and giving them an amazing client experience is what sets you apart! You can watch more on that HERE.
Show off your work! One of the best ways to market yourself at the wedding is to show the people closest to them just how amazing they look! Seeing pictures that you JUST took will help them to be excited to see the rest of the gallery! You can see more tips on the same day slideshow HERE!
Post this as soon as possible! Pick an image that you used in the same day slideshow- and post it to Insta! This will get a lot of traction as the excitement is still in the air.
Send these as soon as possible! You can even AirDrop them from your same day slideshow! Marketing with other wedding vendors is a great way to get your name out there.
Optimize the golden window of impacting! This would be up to 72 hours after the wedding. I know it sounds crazy!! But how amazing is it that they can see a small timeline of their wedding in pictures on their honeymoon! Your blogs don’t have to be long winded, but get it out there! You can see some of my wedding blogs HERE!
Deliver final gallery before they expect it! If you tell them that they’ll get their gallery in 4-6 weeks, deliver it in 3! Another way to wow them and they’ll continue to rave about you!
Be intentional while you’re shooting! Ask your second shooter for 5-7 pictures of you in action. This gives you content to share on social media! This helps to tell the story of what it will look like for other brides to work with you on their wedding day! You could also snap a few pictures of vendors to share with them!
Acknowledge anyone responsible for you being there! Whether the parents paid for the wedding, the couple or anyone else.. thank them all! This goes a long way and can leave a lasting impact!
Send a few fun surprises along the way! Whether that’s a gift card for a date night, or a canvas of your favorite photo! This adds to the impact that you’re trying to have with your couple!
