If I gave out a “toughest” and “most dedicated” award for my clients, Hope would be awarded both! She’s such a sweetheart and all she wanted was some pictures for her boyfriend who is serving our country overseas. Neither of us planned on the 29 degree weather that Saturday brought us! Whew! It was COLD. The type of COLD that makes your body hurt! Seriously, I don’t know how Hope made it through the session. I had a coat and scarf and was moving around, she had to pose, sit, stand and try to look warm! She did an amazing job and though it was cold, it was a good challenge for me. It’s hard to be creative when you’re trying to keep your fingers warm enough to adjust shutter speed. But! We made it work and Hope, you’re awesome! I loved getting to meet you and hear a little about your life in California! Good luck with everything way over there and enjoy your new portraits!
We shot her session on some family land that just happened to include a nearby marina! It was cold but so cute!
Oh how I LOVE this next one.
Doesn’t that make you want curls?!
Oh Hope, you’re too cute!
These next two are a little artsy! Check out those CRAZY lense flares!

This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
Photography is an art that thrives on creativity and technique. If you don’t have the basics of lighting and posing down, this tip won’t work- but if you’re looking to elevate your style, this is for you!!
