If you follow us on Instagram or Snapchat, you know that we’ve been working hard on a project all summer. The KJ Posing course is going to be available in either late August or early September and we are SO EXCITED! We also still have hours upon hours of work to do!! One of our projects left to do is film me photographing a couple that I have NEVER worked with before! We knew from the very beginning that this would be helpful for others to see. Instead of “faking” the first 15 minutes of introductions and how I make my couples at ease, we’re going to film a REAL shoot!
Now, this is obviously hard for me because I have to make sure I do a good job creating a great experience for this new-to-me couple but I also have to make sure that we’re filming at the right angles, in the best light, and we also have to make sure the audio is great. (Thank goodness for The Herrintons!) Anyone who thinks course creation is easy is CRAZY! This is hard stuff! So, all that being said, we need to find a couple that meets the following criteria! :
– Is married and still has their wedding attire available!
– Has NEVER been photographed by me and doesn’t have experience as models for other shoots!
– Is available Aug 2nd from 6:30-8:30pm in Richmond, VA!
– Is willing to be filmed and be included in the KJ Posing Course!
– Needs some gorgeous photos in their wedding attire!
– Isn’t a photographer who has experience posing others
I know we have some strict criteria! However, our anniversary sessions are in high demand right now because we can only do 5-7 of them annually. So, if you meet this criteria and you’re interested in being our models on August 2nd, we would LOVE to hear from you!!! Please email katelyn@katelynjames.com if you’re interested!! OUR MODELS WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED BY THURSDAY EVENING AT 6PM.
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
Today, I’m diving into an experience that was nothing like I anticipated: my digital detox in December. If you’ve ever considered taking a break from the noise of the online world, you might relate to my journey—the good, the surprising, and the, well, completely unplanned.
The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
