This is a 2 part series that I am still in the midst of learning and growing- but the idea of ‘rest’ has always been something that is hard for me and that I have resisted against!
It is definitely out of the norm to slow down…. It’s also out of the norm to TALK THROUGH rest as an entrepreneur because honestly, if you’re wired like me, making time to even listen to a podcast about making time for rest can seem like a waste of time!!
As an enneagram 3, I am always thinking of the next best thing, how to be more productive and my ever growing to-do list! But that has not served my body well, and I’m now seeing some of the effects of what it has done to me.
As an entrepreneur, the hustle is real. You’re constantly juggling responsibilities, striving for success, and often pushing everything else to the back burner. But what if rest was not only possible but essential to thriving in business and life?
In the first episode of the series, I’m talking through the guilt that many entrepreneurs feel when they step away from work. There’s this pervasive belief that taking a break equates to losing momentum. This episode is a reminder that rest is not the enemy of productivity but rather its foundation.
Key takeaways from this episode:
This episode encourages entrepreneurs to understand that rest isn’t a reward for hard work—it’s a necessary part of the work cycle. And most importantly, rest should be guilt-free! You can listen to the episode below or click HERE to save the link for later on Apple Podcasts!
The second episode of this series takes a practical approach to rest by offering strategies entrepreneurs can implement into their busy schedules. The idea isn’t to overhaul your life overnight but to make small, consistent changes that can have a big impact!
Key takeaways include:
Both podcasts emphasize the importance of redefining rest for us as entrepreneurs. The fast-paced, high-stakes nature of entrepreneurship often leads to burnout, which can stifle creativity, decision-making, and overall business growth. These episodes remind us that rest is not indulgent or lazy; it’s a strategic tool that fuels sustainable success.
By integrating intentional rest into your routine—whether through guilt-free breaks, boundaries, or digital detoxes—you’ll find that you’re not only more productive but also more fulfilled in your work. Rest isn’t just a pause in the hustle; it’s the secret ingredient to longevity in entrepreneurship. If you need to get a big workload done before you can take a day or two off, I love taking a work-cation! Learn more about it HERE!
Incorporate these lessons into your life, and you’ll find that rest is the key to doing life—and business—differently. You can save the link for this episode HERE!

Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.

This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
