I started this 3-part series after walking through an incredibly hard season with one of our sons. But there are so many things I wanted to share in hopes of helping other mommas like me that struggle to figure out what was happening!
As I record these episodes, we’re not completely on the other side, but we have seen so many wins that I have been able to come out of the ‘what is going on fog.’ But I wanted to share our story in hopes of encouraging other moms and parents who feel hopeless and helpless with something their kid is facing.
When I sat down to record this, I ended up sharing the raw, honest journey we have been on the past 8-10 months with a health journey with one of our children and recently, my own health hurdles as well. Part 1 paints a clearer picture of our life this last year and sets the stage to share more as we continue on this journey.
The meltdowns that we were seeing from this child, were different than a normal tantrum.. it was something neurological that was causing him to spiral out of control. Some of the other symptoms we were noticing was extreme eczema, under-eye puffiness, prone to get viruses, needing breathing treatments, etc. I could go on about things that just seemed different from our other children, and I knew this was something that was a bigger problem.
So if you’re seeing struggles in your own kids and need some reassurance to keep fighting for what you are seeing, listen to the entire episode below!

After walking through the symptoms and struggles we were noticing, I really became aware of all of the things that could have affected him and our entire family.
From makeup to dishwasher detergent to saying goodbye to standard sippy cups and food dyes…. I try to hit on everything but there is honestly a lot to remember. I JUST realized I didn’t even mention in the episode that we only use Cast Iron and Stainless Steel cookware now!
Like I said, it’s a lot to keep straight and I probably forgot other changes I should have mentioned but this is a JOURNEY and I’m willing to keep sharing as we keep growing through it if you all are up for it! So listen below for some of the practical changes that we started to make in our home.

I wanted to answer some of those questions and try to tie a bow on this long story that can hardly fit into 3 podcast episodes. I share what this season looks like for us and how we are continuing on this health journey, what it looks like day to day and changes that we are still implementing!
If you’re in the middle of a health journey, or advocating for your kids, I hope this episode encourages you!

In today’s world, the idea of a “healthy home” can feel overwhelming. With constant information about toxins, processed foods, and environmental risks, it’s easy to feel defeated before you even start. So I’m sharing our journey and the small, impactful steps we’ve taken towards a healthier home.
This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
Photography is an art that thrives on creativity and technique. If you don’t have the basics of lighting and posing down, this tip won’t work- but if you’re looking to elevate your style, this is for you!!
In this episode of “Doing Life Differently”, I sat down with my friend Catherine Guidry, a luxury wedding photographer and educator, to discuss the challenges and rewards of personal branding. Cat and I dug deep into how sharing more of ourselves—while still maintaining boundaries—can transform our businesses, relationships, and personal lives.
This is not a technical review filled with specs, but rather a practical perspective on how the R6 Mark II performs in everyday photography situations!
I had the pleasure of chatting with Erica and Jon, two incredibly talented photographers and educators who have redefined their business and life by embracing change. From leaving a corporate career to transforming their wedding photography business into a thriving brand photography venture, their story is full of inspiration for anyone looking to take bold steps and live life on their own terms.
