This day started with a lot squeals, hugs and “oh my goodness it’s finally here!”. It seems like we were just in downtown Roanoke for Ted and Candi’s engagement session at the train museum. We spent their engagement session getting to know them and hearing all about their families. One of my favorite things about a wedding day is that Michael and I get to finally meet all of the people that we have heard our couple speak so highly of. Ted and Candi’s family and friends were just a DELIGHT to be around!
Candi’s bridesmaids were so incredibly sweet. I honestly felt so undeserving of the compliments they gave us throughout the day. They were so kind, inclusive and encouraging…. just like Candi. It’s no wonder they are all such great friends and close family members! Throughout the day, friends mentioned both in the ceremony and in their toasts about Ted and Candi’s love for their parents. Being a parent myself, it inspires me. What a legacy to have children who love and respect you and your marriage so much that it’s a common topic brought up on their wedding day!
It may have been the last weekend in October but it was a beautiful 70 degrees and the leaves decided to stay on the trees just long enough for us to take some beautiful portraits! We were working in high-speed mode after the ceremony to get everything accomplished but you would never know it in their portraits! Ted and Candi are pros. They are such a joy to work with and it saddens me that our time with them is over!
This wedding post is the LAST ONE of 2019 and I couldn’t think of a more perfect couple to end with than these two. Ted and Candi, we love you both! Your day was a dream and it was such a privilege to be the ones there to capture it!! Thank you for allowing us to be there!!! I can’t wait to share my favorites! Enjoy this visual story of your amazing fall wedding day!!!
Her dad’s picture was on her bouquet. I love this picture so much because it’s such a sweet reminder of his legacy during Candi’s wedding day.
Gosh I love this!
oh. my. sweet. goodness.

Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?

The wedding industry has faced unique challenges recently, with inflation affecting budgets and couples cutting costs. If you’re a wedding photographer feeling the pinch, don’t worry—2025 doesn’t have to be a slow year.
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
