and I have this thing about couples. We love working with new couples, we love meeting new couples…. overall we just love LOVE them! It’s fun to get to know other couples our age and hear their story. Well, in Vegas last year, I hosted a little mini posing workshop at the crack of dawn one morning. We met some really awesome people that trip but like every trip, there are some new friends that just stand out to you. The Mishes were that couple this past year. I remember Michael going through our list of workshop attendees and saying “Aw, they’re a cute couple!!”. Well after meeting them in real life, not only were they cute, they were so sweet and incredibly genuine.
We loved meeting them in Vegas and I’m so thankful that our friendship didn’t end there! Mike emailed me about an anniversary shoot for the two of them and since we were taking a few shoots like this during the summer, it was perfect timing! Mike and Alison were celebrating their 2nd anniversary and they’re trying to get pictures done every year! I love this! And I also love that we were able to be a part of it! Not only did I get to shoot their anniversary session but we had the chance to spend some time with them during their stay! They were our first “official” out of town guests at the new house and we just loved having them! We’re so thankful for the amazing people God brings into our lives through this industry!!
After their shoot downtown, we grabbed some lunch at the Dairy Bar, a Richmond classic, and they headed on to the next phase of their anniversary weekend! We were a little worried about the rain since we woke up that morning to a downpour but it ended up being PERFECT!! Overcast skies mean GREAT color for portraits!! Enjoy some of my favorites and happy anniversary you two!!! We just adore you guys! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of this special phase of your life!
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
