I told Michael and Kendall that I don’t think I’ve had any other couple enjoy their ENTIRE day as much as the two of them. Oh how I WISH you could have seen them at their reception! These two danced with each other during EVERY song the band played. They’ve got MOVES and they also have so much JOY! Working with Michael and Kendall was such an honor and the funny thing is, after their engagement session, I had at LEAST twenty different friends say “Oh you’re shooting the Twining wedding? I love them!” These two have SO MANY FRIENDS and I think that will be very obvious once you see their bridal party. They are loved by so many!!!!
Their ceremony started with beautiful music, then the music died down and a strong beat started and the music started to build again, little by little… It was time for Kendall to make her debut! This day was one debut after another! First it was their incredible ceremony! (I hope it’s not weird that I sang along with every song!) Then it was arriving at the stunning Dover Hall Estate! What a DREAM venue and it’s right outside of Richmond! (Future RVA brides, take note!) The next debut was the group dance to “Uptown Funk” that catapulted the whole room into 3 hours of non-stop dancing!!!
Michael and Kendall made me blush when they kept telling us how much they loved us but I don’t think they really understood just how OBSESSED we were with them and their day! It was a long day with double the amount of guests and TRIPLE the amount of bridal party members and yet I would shoot their wedding every weekend if I had the opportunity to. It is VERY clear to me why these two had a 28 person bridal party. The new Mr. & Mrs. Twining are two of the most genuine people we’ve ever worked with and I cannot WAIT to share their day with you!!!
These are heirlooms broaches that Kendall wore in her hair!
Wow! Dover Hall’s bridal suite is a dream!
Love these neutral bridesmaids dresses!
Look at all of those girls!!!
Ha! No idea what was happening here…
… But there there is definitely a lot of documentation of it!
It was POURING rain during this shot!
Their entire bridal party laid hands on them and prayed for them after they took communion and I got teary. What a powerful way to begin a marriage than to have your best friends (all 28 of them!) praying for you!
Love Michael’s shot of the kiss!
Kendall don’t hate me for this… I LOVE IT!!
The moment they realized Michael’s twin brother was still crying after the ceremony. The sweetest!!!
Holy BRIDAL PARTY!

Ever felt that wave of anxiety before a photoshoot—the kind that makes your mind race with thoughts like What if I freeze? What if I run out of ideas? What if my clients feel awkward?
When it comes to wedding photography, the right lens can make all the difference. But let’s be honest—gear can get expensive. So when Canon introduced the RF 85mm f/2.0—a lens with portrait, macro, and image stabilization capabilities for just $500—I knew I had to put it to the test.
Have you ever started a session, camera in hand, and suddenly felt stuck? Your couple is standing there, looking at you, waiting for direction… and your mind goes blank.
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
