emailed me about the possibility of shooting their engagement session in Charleston and I think I probably responded with an immediate “YES!”. Charleston?! I love that place!! It’s one of my all time favorite cities to shoot in and I was ready to make another trip down south! I have shot in Charleston a couple other times and I have always driven down. It was about 8 hours from Richmond and so Michael and I decided to make a road trip out of it. I worked super hard on emails and office related things while we drove down so that once we arrived, I didn’t have to look at my laptop until the drive home!
That’s just one of the wonderful things about having Michael by my side! We’re capable of so much more with his help! So we traveled down last Tuesday and I worked the whole way. Once we arrived, we ate way too much food and enjoyed our time together on Wednesday before we met up with Harrison and Rachel! We started shooting their session downtown and lets be honest, you can’t go wrong in Charleston… it’s beautiful!! Every street has something fabulous to shoot in front of! There are so many gorgeous streets that it’s almost overwhelming! Well, because of the incoming storms, we were on a time crunch and that made me kick it into high gear! We accomplished so much in a little amount of time and I’m so thankful for Harrison and Rachel’s willingness to visit a ton of little locations SO quickly!! After we shot downtown, we made a little trip over to Seabrook Island where we were able to capture a few more portraits before the sunlight slipped away!! We actually shot on the beach after the sun had set and I have to say, I’m proud of my MarkIII… it did extremely well in that low light situation!!
Harrison and Rachel, thank you for allowing us to spend one evening of your 4th of July vacation with you! We loved getting to know you two and we enjoyed our mini trip to low country!! I hope you love your southern engagement session!! Enjoy!
