at CNU because we sang on Worship Team together for Intervarsity! Gosh that seems like another world! We’ve been out in the real world for quite some time and it’s hard to believe that it has been almost 5 years since that season of our life!! Lauren was always the loyal, dependable member of worship team that was always on time!! I remember having conversations about her wedding way back then. At the time, I had just started my business! I wasn’t even that GOOD yet and still Lauren insisted that one day, I would photograph her wedding! Well, that time has come!!!
It’s so exciting to see college friends meet their soul mate! Mike is the sweetest guy with such a genuine, welcoming personality! I couldn’t be more excited for Lauren!! She hit the jackpot and so did he! :) We met these two on Carter’s Mountain in Charlottesville, VA and it was gorgeous! The storm clouds were off in the distance and we didn’t think twice about them. Thankfully, both of us arrived to the location 30 minutes early and we started shooting! Those 30 minutes turned out to be invaluable!!! The sprinkles started and at first, we thought it was just going to blow over! ….. But then the monsoon came! We got creative and took cover at a little tavern down the road and because these two are ridiculously awesome, they still had a super fun shoot!!!! I don’t know what it is about our weather recently but it has been SO unpredictable! Thankfully Michael and Lauren were good sports and trusted me and my crazy ideas!!! It paid off!! Enjoy some of my FAVORITES and get excited for their CNU wedding next year!! YAY!!
Ever felt that wave of anxiety before a photoshoot—the kind that makes your mind race with thoughts like What if I freeze? What if I run out of ideas? What if my clients feel awkward?
When it comes to wedding photography, the right lens can make all the difference. But let’s be honest—gear can get expensive. So when Canon introduced the RF 85mm f/2.0—a lens with portrait, macro, and image stabilization capabilities for just $500—I knew I had to put it to the test.
Have you ever started a session, camera in hand, and suddenly felt stuck? Your couple is standing there, looking at you, waiting for direction… and your mind goes blank.
Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
Success—it’s a word we hear all the time. But what does it really mean? Is it about financial security? Status? Owning a dream home or taking extravagant vacations?
When you think about your business, do you see it as simply a job—or something more?
