probably one of our top 5 biggest business announcements to date. It’s one of those decisions that we talked about and after coming to the conclusion that we wanted to go for it, “YOLO!” would have been an appropriate way to end the conversation! It’s true, you only live once and so why not give your dreams a shot!? Sure, it’s scary and it’s a risk but this is also one of the most exciting adventures we’ve ever attempted in our business and we’re ready for a challenge!! Michael has always had a lifelong dream of visiting this amazing country and I have always wanted to teach overseas
and meet blog followers from all over the world…. so! ….. WE’RE GOING TO AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We’re going to Australia and we’re teaching our TWO-DAY Workshop Experience on August 2nd-3rd in Adelaide, SA!!! WHAT?!!! First of all, I can’t believe we’re going to be on an airplane for almost 20 hours and secondly, I can’t believe our first long distance workshop is going to be on the other side of the WORLD!!! So how did this come to be?! Well, over the years we have received an email here and there from some blog followers located in Australia and we were SHOCKED!! People know who we ARE?! Over THERE?!! That’s just CRAZY to me! I’ve seen friends and mentors of ours teach in Australia and I’ve always thought that was so amazing! …. And something that we’d probably never be able to do. But then we started to pay attention to our random emails from across the world and we starting thinking about how amazing it would to meet these people and TEACH these photographers! It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for both us AND them! So we decided to start considering it. If the opportunity arose, we would start chasing the dream… but we were just going to wait for a “sign” to move forward. Well, that sign came in email form. A photographer from Adelaide emailed us and offered to help us make this dream a reality and we started planning!!! …. We bought plane tickets a few months into planning and we realize that this means we’re either going to have a super successful workshop or a REALLY expensive vacation! We’re hoping for the first option!! :)
We are so excited about this and SO thankful for all of the advice from our sweet friends who have gone before us and have offered advice about our trip. Jasmine and Mary, your words of wisdom are invaluable and your encouragement means more than you know!! Thank you:)
So there it is! Our big announcement!!! WE’RE HOSTING THE WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE IN AUSTRALIA!!!!!!! AH!!!!!
So to our Australian friends out there, we’d love to see you in August!! We’re coming to your neck of the woods and we’d LOVE to meet you!! You can read more about our workshops HERE!! The only difference is that we’ll be hanging out in a house in Australia (on the beach!!) and not in our own living room at our house! :) We have found over the last few years of teaching that the smaller the number, the better. We limit our workshops to 12-15 attendees and we allow for two days of teaching in order to be able to share all of our most valuable content at every workshop we host. Day one is lighting, posing and the external part of the client’s experience. Day two is business, workflow and the backend of the experience that affects your clients!
So the funny thing is, we’re announcing this at 9am EST and our Australian friends aren’t even awake right now!!! (Such a newbie thing to do! We’re stilling learning about all of this International stuff!) So we’ll be sharing and announcing this new adventure for the next few days! And hey, even if just one person signs up, I still think it’s cool that we have a friend in Australia!!! We’re so excited to share our knowledge and how we have built this business with brand new industry friends on the other side of the globe!!!
