Brad and Katie have one of those relationships that everyone just loves hearing about. They met, fell in love and EVERYONE loves them together. The got engaged in the back of his beloved ford truck and their love for all things country made Riverside on the Potomac the absolute BEST venue for them! It was perfect!! I’ve said it before but this barn is one of the most AMAZING barn venues in the state! I’m not joking! Tall ceilings, original flooring, hanging lanterns, lots of space and incredible old beams that make for gorgeous pictures!
This wedding was wonderful not just because of the beautiful venue but also because of Brad’s amazing wedding gift. I’m telling you…. this may have been one of the BEST gifts we’ve ever seen! Brad’s best man delivered a stack of gifts to Katie and she was in shock. One by one, she opened them and with each gift, she was puzzled and maybe a little confused… until she read the card. :) The first gift was an iPad with a sticky note that read “Play me”. She turned it on and brad had recorded a video of himself talking to her. He explained that she was absolutely everything that he had ever dreamed for in a wife and a partner for life. As Katie’s mom and bridesmaids heard his sweet words, they were just in awe. Katie was truly marrying the most amazing guy. And the gift didn’t end there! She then opened, a new pair of heels, a stunning black dress and a card that said they were going to the CMA’s this November! WHAT?!!!! How amazing!!!
Michael and I loved being a part of their big day. I have to give these two some credit though… they went ABOVE and beyond for their portraits. I mean, Katie walked in knee-high grass that was infested with grasshoppers in order to have epic portraits and it was SO worth it! I’m so thankful for their bravery and willingness to follow my crazy ideas! :)
Enjoy this gorgeous wedding at Riverside on the Potomac and congrats Brad and Katie!!
I just love these colors!!!

The view from the girl’s getting ready suite! wow!
I mean… I’m proud of this. :) Photographers this was shot with an 85mm so I was in another room in order to get this but I LOVE my 85 in situations like this! Layers are the best!

Have you ever tried to sit down with your spouse to talk about dreams, goals, and vision—only for it to turn into frustration or misalignment? If so, you’re not alone. Vision casting in marriage is hard because it brings up deeper fears, beliefs, and unspoken dynamics that many couples don’t even realize are at play.
