Her ring is engraved and it says “The Real Thing” inside of the band. This is their phrase and almost like their motto for their relationship. However, they aren’t just the “real thing” for one another, they are the real thing to everyone around them. These two had a BIG wedding. There were close to 250 guests and I honestly think that Matt hugged and thanked every. single. person. He couldn’t even recess down the aisle without thanking people and loving on them. I just love people that love people well. Michael said that Matt literally complimented his sweet mom at least 5 times when he saw her all dressed up and he did the same once he had a chance to tell Kylene how amazing she looked after the ceremony!
Matt is such a warm and inviting guy and Kylene is the same way. It seems like I’ve known her forever. I loved my time with her and I think my favorite part of the day was getting to watch her interact with her sister Kendall. They are so similar and yet so different at the same time! I love their love for one another!! Their whole family was so kind to us and at the end of the night, I hugged Kylene goodbye and she said “How do you do this every weekend?! This is so sad to say goodbye!!”. It is sad to say goodbye after a YEAR of emails and planning together!! But when you have a day as awesome as Matt and Kylene’s, it’s really hard to be sad for very long!!!
These two literally had a dream wedding! When they entered their reception with confetti falling from the ceiling and everyone screaming and shouting out of pure excitement! It was just amazing!!
I hope you love these two and their beautiful Ritz-Carlton wedding as much as I do! Enjoy!
Kylene’s sweet mom sang with her quartet and it was Amazing!
President Trible and Rosemary are two people that we love dearly. It was so wonderful getting to see them at Matt and Kylene’s wedding!!
Recognize these two?! We love Trevor and Becky!

This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Erica and Jon, two incredibly talented photographers and educators who have redefined their business and life by embracing change. From leaving a corporate career to transforming their wedding photography business into a thriving brand photography venture, their story is full of inspiration for anyone looking to take bold steps and live life on their own terms.
I run a Facebook group with over 20,000 photographers, and something I see constantly are people sharing their editing struggles, asking for critiques, or seeking advice on how to fix issues in Lightroom.
This is going to go down as the wedding day were we got lucky over and over again. Blair and Ashley heard that there was a chance of rain on their wedding day but we all wrote it off as nothing and kept moving on with all of our original plans.
In the fast-paced world we live in, finding purpose and intention in everyday life can feel like a distant goal. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a parent, a creative, or simply someone searching for more meaning, this probably resonates with you! If you’ve been a longtime follower of the Katelyn James podcast, you know it’s always been about authenticity, growth, and family. So, we wanted the podcast to represent just that. Welcome to Doing Life Differently!
If you’re looking to build a personal brand that genuinely connects with people, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a creative, or just someone looking for more purpose in life, I think these insights will resonate with you.
