Ryan is a lucky guy. He gets to live with Britney Fitzgerald for the rest of his life and that is such a gift! Britney and I lived together for three years in college and I think it’s safe to say that out of all of my roommates, we had the most similar habits. We would eat meals at random hours of the day when our schedules allowed for it… we stayed up until the crack of dawn like that was normal and that the hours in the night never ended. The funny thing is, we were always up together at the same hours, but we were working on completely different things!
We were both Communication majors, but Bitty can still remember the names of theorists and I can’t even remember what my senior seminar project was on! I graduated with several C’s that I thought were going to be D’s and so I was pretty proud of myself! Britney graduated with honors and great grades. She worked so hard in college, but the great thing about Britney is that she never judges anyone. She never made me feel bad for being a slacker…. she was just the opposite! Britney loved hearing about “Inspired Designs By Katelyn James”. The business was brand new and it was all consuming. I would hangout some in the evenings with our other roomies and then once they went to bed around midnight, Britney and I would stay up until 3 or 4am …. and that was an early night!
Even on the days when neither one of us got much sleep, Britney was always so joyful. She made our house so much fun and just thinking about those college years makes me miss it! We were living the dream. A group of girlfriends who all loved each other living together under one roof! It wasn’t uncommon for Britney to be eating something a little dated and questionable out of the fridge at 2am while I was eating my 3rd bowl of cereal. We would talk about our future and Britney always said that she wanted to move to NYC and we never doubted her. Some people say they are going to live in New York and you know that they aren’t cut out for that… Britney wasn’t one of those people. She was made for the NYC lifestyle and I have loved seeing her create a new life for herself up there!!
One of the best things that has ever happened to her during her time up there was meeting Ryan. I remember answering the phone and hearing Britney say “Hi Kay Kayyyyyy!” She proceeded to tell me very casually that she was dating a guy and I squealed. Britney is amazing and all of us have always said that it’s going to take an equally amazing guy to marry her! She deserves a guy who loves what she loves and appreciates her energetic and adventurous personality, and Ryan is just perfect for her! Michael and I are so excited for these two and we loved our time with them last week in Brooklyn! It worked out perfectly! We were in NYC for our anniversary and we met up with them for a sunrise session before we flew home. I’m so thankful that these two got to have engagement pictures in their city, because it only seems appropriate to capture the two of them where they met!
Enjoy my favorites! Ryan and Britney we’re so excited for JUNE!!! It’s going to be here before we know it and we can not WAIT!!!!!
