We headed to an industry event at Kona Grill here in Short Pump several years ago and that’s where I met her! Megan attended this little gathering of photographers and we chatted about how she was dating her high school sweetheart and how marriage seemed SO far away. Since I dated Michael for 8 years before we got married, I totally understood where she was coming from. It’s hard to date that long!! I loved that conversation and little did I know that a few years later, I would be shooting her wedding!!!
This past Sunday, Michael and I drove to Big Spring Farm… one of our favorite places on the planet! I could seriously shoot a wedding here every weekend. We love being with our friends who own the property and we love shooting there because there isn’t any other venue that offers so much variety in portrait locations! Water, rolling hills, rustic barn, restored farmhouse, fence lines, cow pastures, mountains, rocky ledges, willows, fields and mature trees for days!! As you scroll through this post, I want you to recognize that it was RAINING in most of these images! So how did we capture so many gorgeous portraits in the RAIN?! I’ll tell you how…. 1. We were working with one awesome couple who didn’t let the rain freak them out! and 2. We were shooting at an incredible venue with large trees that blocked big rain drops!
Justin and Megan had the most amazing team of vendors working with them to make their day a reality. The florals, the planning, the stationary, the venue, the videography, the DJ, the decor…. everything was just perfect! It was an HONOR to photograph the beginning of their lives together!! We love these two and we’re so thankful that we get to be a part of their lives. After years and years of waiting, they are finally MARRIED and are heading to HAWAII!!!!! Hopefully Megan can find some strong WIFI over there because she has a MASSIVE blog post to scroll through!!
