This is going to go down as the wedding day were we got lucky over and over again. Blair and Ashley heard that there was a chance of rain on their wedding day but we all wrote it off as nothing and kept moving on with all of our original plans.
Right before the ceremony started, the dark clouds were rolling on one side of the sky while the sun was trying to peek through on the other. It started to sprinkle before the vows were shared and I think everyone if the heavens were about to let loose! Thankfully, the rain never exceeded a faint sprinkle and the ceremony was saved! Then, fast forward to right before introductions, I noticed that the sun may be peaking over the edge of the mountain and asked Blair and Ashley if we could squeeze in a few more portraits and being the sweet duo that they are, they didn’t hesitate! We took a beautiful portraits with the only strong glow we had seen all day and then, right as we got them inside, the downpour began. It was as if the entire day perfectly fell into place, at just the right time.
While I was super excited about the glow and the perfectly timed portraits earlier in the day, the real joy of the whole experience was getting to know these two. The more I learned about them, the more I spent time around them, the more I heard others talk about them…. the more I realized just how kind Blair and Ashley are. For example, they wrote handwritten notes to EVERY single guest at their wedding…. and this wasn’t a 45 person event…. there were almost 200 guests in attendance! They had thoughtful songs, dances and gifts for their parents…. they wanted to be at cocktail hours to speak to as many guests as possible…. they included everyone on the family formal list because they know that it means a lot to be remembered. They are by nature, so incredibly thoughtful and we felt so honored that we were the ones who were chosen to photograph their day. Ashley is in the photography space and so she could have chosen ANYONE else… but she chose me… and I’m so grateful!
They ended their evening with memories for a lifetime and I went home with a collection of new images that I’m in love with and can’t wait to show the world!!!!

Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Over the last few months, I’ve been on a medical rollercoaster that I never saw coming.
If you’ve been following my journey, you know I’m always looking for ways to do life differently. Whether it’s in business, family, or personal growth, I’ve learned that stepping away from the norm often leads to the most profound transformations.
In today’s world, the idea of a “healthy home” can feel overwhelming. With constant information about toxins, processed foods, and environmental risks, it’s easy to feel defeated before you even start. So I’m sharing our journey and the small, impactful steps we’ve taken towards a healthier home.
Wedding days can be incredibly stressful for everyone involved. Photographers, brides, grooms, and guests alike often find themselves overwhelmed by the schedule and the numerous details that need attention. However, there are key “in-between” moments throughout the day that can be leveraged to create a smoother experience and better outcomes. As the photographer, you can calm the nerves of everyone there and capture their day beautifully!
This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
Photography is an art that thrives on creativity and technique. If you don’t have the basics of lighting and posing down, this tip won’t work- but if you’re looking to elevate your style, this is for you!!
