She emailed me and said that she was getting married on her parent’s farm in West Virginia and I was so excited! I love weddings that take place at home! Our wedding reception was held in my parent’s backyard and I couldn’t have imagine it anywhere else. As Michael and I pulled up to the quaint yellow house overlooking the field where the reception would take place, it reminded me so much of our wedding day. Friends and family were running around prepping last minute details and as I talked to Jenny’s mom, she told that it took an army of friends to pull this wedding off. As hard as DIY weddings are, there is something so wonderful about getting married in a place that means so much to you. I loved seeing to-do lists around the house and I watching friends, cousins and other family members pitch in throughout the day. Their labor of love truly paid off because Ian and Jenny’s day couldn’t have been more beautiful.
The weather was gorgeous through the ceremony and their portraits and then the rain came for only 20 minutes and really cooled everything down for the reception. I don’t know what we loved more, the awesome setting, the amazing people or the baby chicks that guest could hold during cocktail hour! I mean how cute is THAT?! I’ve seen a lot of things at weddings but baby chicks was a new one for me! Not only were there chicks present, ALL of the animals on the farm had red bow ties and they were adorable!
Ian and Jenny’s wedding couldn’t have been more fun and we loved being a part of such an amazing celebration in such a special place!! I’m already late posting this today so I’ll let you get to the pictures but I just have to thank Jenny and Ian again for allowing us to be there! There are so many photographers that would have been closer to the venue and yet you chose us to be a part of your day and we are truly honored. Congratulation you two!!! Enjoy your new life as husband and wife!!!
This may be my greatest balancing act yet on the left! She has such a unique ring! The boys checking out what’s happening outside! LOVED Jenny’s dress! Ringing the bell! Ceremony time! The ceremony took place down the hill behind the house on the shore of the river. Love this shot of Jenny’s dad right before he gives her away:) Smiling at her parents:) Jenny you are stunning! MARRIED!!!! Love their small, intimate bridal party! Gorgeous… Yesss!!
Oh where do I begin? This wasn’t just another wedding for me. This was a legacy KJ Wedding and I have been looking forward to it ever since my first email from Danny and Megan!
I’m really excited about this YouTube video because I know that it resonates with ALL photographers who photograph PEOPLE!!
Have you ever walked into a client experience and realized “oh wow, this is not what I was expecting?” ….
