I was planning my wedding, I had no idea where to begin. I would see beautiful weddings in magazines and on blogs and I was just at a loss. Where do you FIND this stuff?! My wedding was a “Vintage Peacock Theme”! So a lot of my wedding decor came from thrift stores. However, my sister’s wedding wasn’t going to be vintage at all. It was a bit rustic but Emy didn’t want burlap and lace. She wanted a more classic farm wedding that wasn’t super DIY and I totally understood what she was envisioning.
Thankfully, I have grown in my knowledge of wedding resources since my wedding planning days! So I thought it may be helpful to share all of the sources from Joe and Emily’s big day! My BIGGEST piece of advice for decorating and styling a wedding is to focus on the HIGH IMPACT details. Don’t spend a fortune and a bazillion hours on tiny little favors that half of your guests won’t even see! Some of the best investments for Joe and Emily’s big day were their custom table runners under the tent and their rentals from Paisley and Jade!! Both of these items made a high impact on the look of their big day! See below:
The alter doors and sideboard table were rented from Paisley and Jade! TOTALLY worth the investment!! These were definitely high impact decor pieces! This beautiful day way unlike any wedding I have ever photographed before. It’s hard to put into words how powerful and inspiring it was.
If you’ve been following my updates since I got the R6 two years ago, you know I LOVE it!! It has been a game changer for me! But there is ONE mistake that I’ve made that cannot be fixed afterwards!
There are things that EVERY photographer should have on their website! We will walk through some students’ websites to see how small changes can impact their perceived value, and for you to see if what they’re missing is something that you are too!
You know what I’m realizing? I’m realizing I am loving getting to see people I love and miss in this very busy season of our life.
We’re gearing up for wedding season and there are so many ways to market yourself DURING a wedding to keep new clients coming in! I have been a wedding photographer for 13 years, and I have never paid for ‘traditional’ advertising!
I am eating my words again! For years, I have used InDesign for everything… but Canva had a HUGE update last year which changed everything!!
