I was planning my wedding, I had no idea where to begin. I would see beautiful weddings in magazines and on blogs and I was just at a loss. Where do you FIND this stuff?! My wedding was a “Vintage Peacock Theme”! So a lot of my wedding decor came from thrift stores. However, my sister’s wedding wasn’t going to be vintage at all. It was a bit rustic but Emy didn’t want burlap and lace. She wanted a more classic farm wedding that wasn’t super DIY and I totally understood what she was envisioning.
Thankfully, I have grown in my knowledge of wedding resources since my wedding planning days! So I thought it may be helpful to share all of the sources from Joe and Emily’s big day! My BIGGEST piece of advice for decorating and styling a wedding is to focus on the HIGH IMPACT details. Don’t spend a fortune and a bazillion hours on tiny little favors that half of your guests won’t even see! Some of the best investments for Joe and Emily’s big day were their custom table runners under the tent and their rentals from Paisley and Jade!! Both of these items made a high impact on the look of their big day! See below:
The alter doors and sideboard table were rented from Paisley and Jade! TOTALLY worth the investment!! These were definitely high impact decor pieces! Chalkboard signs are the BEST! We bought these from Homegoods! And this adorable Mr. & Mrs. Cake Topper? It’s from BETTER OFF WED on Etsy! Custom Mr. & Mrs. forks for cake cutting are from Milk and Honey Luxuries on Etsy! Custom napkin rings are from LorelieVella on Etsy! Plates and chargers are from World Market! The rest of the sweetheart table items belong to friends and family! Table Runners! We ordered a bulk order of these and it was one of the best ways to decorate a LARGE tent! I highly recommend using Simply Table Runners on Etsy! Fairly priced, custom made and super speedy delivery!! Oh! And there are so many beautiful fabric options! And the ribbon chair streamers? I made those with ribbon from Paper Mart.com! These hobnail vases were purchased HERE! Bridesmaids details! Necklace from HERE, Shoes from Target and shoe clips from Etsy!In today’s world, the idea of a “healthy home” can feel overwhelming. With constant information about toxins, processed foods, and environmental risks, it’s easy to feel defeated before you even start. So I’m sharing our journey and the small, impactful steps we’ve taken towards a healthier home.
This week, Michael is sitting down with me at the microphone to join me on the podcast! When we started our Acton Academy journey, we had big dreams and very little idea of the practical challenges that lay ahead. Today, in year three of running our own Acton Academy, Michael and I are thrilled to reflect on the incredible transformation we’ve seen in our learners, our community, and even our own perspectives on education.
Photography is an art that thrives on creativity and technique. If you don’t have the basics of lighting and posing down, this tip won’t work- but if you’re looking to elevate your style, this is for you!!
