I equip purpose-driven entrepreneurs and photographers to turn their story into connection—and their gifts into lasting impact.

hey friends, i'm katelyn

Ever since their engagement session, I have looked forward to photographing Lindsay’s beautiful smile on her wedding day. Lindsay is the type of bride that you look forward to working with all year and so it was so perfect that their wedding was the final wedding of 2014! Her smile is just one reason why I loved this wedding. Jake and Lindsay have such a genuine, strong love for one another. During the reception, Lindsay’s dad toasted to the newlyweds and explained that the number one thing that he loved about their relationship was their respect for one another. I loved this because so often you don’t hear about how important respect is in a relationship. The more that Lindsay’s dad talked about how much they respect one another, the more I realized how true this was.

I’ve only been around these two 3 different times but every time I watch them interact, I can see what Mr. Bowles was talking about. They are best friends and want nothing more than to lift one another up and love each other selflessly. My hope is that you can see that love in their images because it’s so evident when you’re with them in person. :) I just loved being a part of this gorgeous DC wedding. The Carnegie Institute is so stunning. It’s probably a good thing that I didn’t have unlimited time for portraits because I could have photographed these two all day long at their gorgeous venue!!!

Jake and Lindsay, I hope your wedding day was everything you dreamed it would be! It was so beautiful from beginning to end and we feel so honored to have been the ones to capture it. Your families and your friends were so welcoming and loving towards us and we can’t thank you enough for that. We truly felt like we were celebrating with old friends. Enjoy reliving your day!!!

Love these classic Kate Spades with low heels!  Loved this ring shot with the wedding date slightly in focus!  Her details are so stunning! The Jefferson Hotel is unbelievable!  Oh Lindsay! So perfect!!! The sweetest sisters! Mom’s first look!  Girl!!!!
Dad’s turn! We love doing first looks where the groom watched his bride walk towards him! It’s just like the aisle…
Only he gets to hug her at the end! :) The wind was in our favor!  Long veils make me happy! This was Lindsay’s mom’s veil!  We found fall leaves!! Ha! I remember what was said here… and it was as hilarious as it looks! :) Stunning Lindsay!  So these were all taken in a median…. in the middle of DC! But I think it was worth it. Fall colors never get old!  Cuties! She had peonies… in the late fall! They came all the way from New Zealand!!! So simple and classic!  So beautiful!  Time to get married!! So much joy! Remember these two?! Love them so much!!
