It’s been a while since I’ve photographed an engagement session at beautiful Maymont Park. Meeting Ryan and Danielle there was perfect even though I totally forgot that Maymont closes so early! We heard a reminder that the park would be closing soon and just as I started to feel a bit panicked, the clouds cleared, the sun started to shine and I was able to capture the most beautiful light before we unexpectedly had to leave the park!
We found out quickly that Ryan and Danielle aren’t phased by a last minute changes to the plan. We headed down the road to another park only to find that it was under construction… what are the chances?! I was frustrated, but quickly realized that this led me to shoot at a location that I had always passed throughout the years but had never felt like it was the right time to use it. You see, this spot was wide open. there were limited trees or diffused light and so normally, it’s not an ideal spot. This day was different. There was a slight haze in the sky and it made this location more ideal than it had ever been in the past! I’m thrilled with the outcome!
We loved our time with these two. Their engagement session resulted in gorgeous images and it also allowed us to have some really awesome time to get to know the two of them. Dani works in the science/research field and Ryan is in education. They are opposites in many ways, but there is one thing that we noticed that they share… they are both incredibly kind and easy to love. We could have talked to them for hours! It makes sense that they would have a massive guest list for their upcoming fall wedding. They shared with us that there is a sweet elderly couple who have seats in front of their seats at Red Sox games. They have become so close with them that they are actually traveling down to celebrate with them at their destination wedding!! How sweet?! We need more people in the world like Ryan and Danielle.
We can’t wait to celebrate these two in just a couple of months!! Enjoy their engagement portraits!!
As a professional photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless family portraits over the years. Each session presents a unique set of challenges, from managing energetic children to finding the perfect backdrops.
As a photographer, I’ve often found myself in situations where the location seemed lackluster or uninspiring. It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of the perfect setting, but the reality is that we don’t always have the luxury of shooting in the most visually stunning locations.
We rescheduled this shoot with the Smith family once because of a threat of rain. It wasn’t a totally horrible forecast but if there’s one thing that I learned about Colleen when I photographed her wedding, it’s that she loves the GLOW!
What’s better than doing a family session for one KJ couple? Photographing TWO and adding in Nonna and Grandpa!
As a professional wedding photographer, I’ve encountered my fair share of editing challenges on the job.
Have you ever closed out of Lightroom unhappy with the end result?
