October is NOT supposed to be 40 degrees! Burrrrrrr! Where did that cold streak come from?! It was freezing in VA this past weekend, mostly on Saturday. I woke up and saw it sleeting outside. My immediate thought was “PORTRAIT TIME?! WHAT WILL I DO?!!”. And because Michael is much more calm than I am, he was smart enough to check the weather and found out that the rain was supposed to stop around the time portraits would begin…. and that’s exactly what happened. However, it was still FREEZING!! After the ceremony, the bridal party loaded up into their giant stretch Escalade and headed to University of Richmond where almost all of them went to school.
The funny thing is, I’m calling this the “University of Richmond Wedding” and really, none of the wedding festivities took place on campus, we just did portraits on there! And it was the perfect location. The trees were gorgeous (which you will see in a minute!) and it meant a lot to the couple! We stopped by the Robbins Center to for some shots indoors (where it was WARM!) and then we bared the cold AGAIN! Caroline and Brian were amazing. It really wasn’t the EASIEST day to take relaxed, wedding portraits. It’s hard to feel comfortable when you’re FREEZING but they made it look easy!
Their wedding day may have been a chilly one but that didn’t matter. These two said their vows, shared a kiss and it was time to celebrate! Friends and family from ALL OVER the WORLD came together to see these two start their new life together. They danced the night away at The Renaissance in downtown Richmond. I actually MET these two on their wedding day which normally makes me a little nervous… ok, really nervous. However, I couldn’t have loved them more. From the moment I met Carrie in her fuzzy fleece pants, I loved her. (Carrie I JUST bought a pair at Target and I’ve been living in them! I understand your obsession.) Her bridesmaids were amazing, their families were so welcoming and as I left the reception, a guest stopped me and said “Oh you’re a friend of the bride right?!”… And I answered with “Well I am now!”. I loved this wedding and it was such an honor to capture their beautiful day and meet the people that they love most in their life! Enjoy my favorites and leave these two some love!!!
This greenery was really different but I love it!
I’m kinda obsessed with the detail in her Priscilla of Boston gown!! So stunning! YAY!!

Oh and I can’t forget this pit stop we made at the girl’s favorite bar from their college days:)
One of Carrie’s bridesmaids made this and it tells their love story! SO FUN!
