This is one of those days that seems surreal. There was a time in my business 3 years ago that I was barely keeping my head above water and I didn’t have time to dream or grow or explore anything new. Those were the days before outsourcing and GREAT systems. :) Now, I’m still busy but because I have handed over some things that I don’t HAVE to be doing, I can dream again!! One of my most recent goals has been to be able to teach ALL TYPES of small business owners! I did a coaching session with my friend Amanda a few weeks ago and she’s a floral designer… not a photographer!!
It was amazing to me how similar my social media and marketing strategies were! So much of what I do in my business can relate to other small businesses. So naturally, I decided that I wanted to teach and offer education to other small business owners… not just to wedding photographers.
So this leads me to my exciting announcement!! For the first time EVER, we’re hosting a SMALL BUSINESS SOCIAL!! This is a 5 hour workshop in our home for small business owners who are interested in enhancing their social media presence and marketing strategies! I’m excited about this for several reasons! 1. I get to meet new people with new stories and new types of businesses!! 2. I get to focus on one VERY important area of my business and spend a good chunk of time breaking down what we do and why we do it! And 3. I’m excited to share information that is transferrable to all types of businesses. This isn’t just about how to get brides to book you. For so long, that has been my only focus when I’ve been teaching and now I’m excited to expand!!
So what will be covered? I’m glad you asked!! For those attending the Small Business Social, you can expect these topics to be covered:
- Vision casting for your business
- The need for social media and how to be prepared for where it’s headed in the future!
- Technical and practical tips and advice for using the major social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest
- Incorporating social media into your day-to-day business life
- The value of personal marketing and showcasing your strengths through social media and blogging
- Creating systems, workflows and social media schedules that will produce consistent social media interactions and marketing patterns in your business
We’ll cover much more but we’ll be spending a lot of time on the areas mentioned above!! Can’t wait!!!! There has never been a year quite like 2020. It started off so normal, so simple and so carefree. Then, March/April hit and it felt like everything was turned upside down!
Another month. I had forgotten just how fast it goes when they are this tiny. One minute they are in 0-3 month clothes and the next you’re unpacking 6month options!

It’s hard to believe I’m writing this… my fourth birth story in four years. I’ve given birth in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Just typing that makes me tired….. and so grateful…. unbelievably grateful. These last four years have been the best and hardest of my life. We cherish being parents and welcoming a new baby is hands down the most incredible thing we have ever experienced in our 18 years together. I’m so excited to introduce you to our newest member of our family and tell you the story of how he came into this world!
