The Canon RF 28-70 f/2 is currently my FAVORITE lens so I was excited to try the RF macro!! (Watch this video to learn more about how amazing the Canon RF 28-70 f/2 is!!)
First of all before we go any further – you know getting into the technical side of shooting is not my things! I don’t enjoy talking about tech specs BUT even though I don’t enjoy it, I know that there are certain scenarios where tech is important! Ty jumps in on this video to give 3 technical comparisons of the RF and EF 100mm Macro (Thanks, Ty!!). He compares:
- Minimum focal distances of both lenses (AKA how close you need to be to whatever it is you’re shooting!)
- What the “SA control” ring is in on the RF 100mm Macro (and if you actually need it!)!
- 5 stops of stabilization on the RF vs. 4 stops on the EF (and why that might not matter!)
If you find comparing the tech part of these lenses to be helpful, I think you’ll enjoy Ty’s short, sweet & to the point comparison of the two!!!
I also want to give you my non-technical opinion on whether or not the RF is worth the upgrade… I LOVE my EF and have never had any issues with this lens!! BUT because I also have my Canon RF 28-70 f/2, I knew it was time to give the RF Macro a try!!!
Watch the video to learn if I think the upgrade was worth it & if you should grab the RF 100mm Macro, too!
