We realized after chatting for a few minutes at their engagement session that I have know Elise for a decade! So crazy!! It seems like just a couple of years ago we were meeting up at the Bistro on CNU’s campus and living that dream college life that involved class but was mostly spent with people we loved! Elise has always been such an inspirational friend! She never settles for anything less than what God has for her and she’s bold in her pursuit of her dreams. She has spent almost all of her time post-college working and serving at a teach in Jerusalem!!
Isn’t that amazing?! She’s so independent, strong and confident. I knew one day I would receive an email like I did a few months ago. Elise emailed me recently and told me that she was engaged and SO excited to finally get to introduce me to her fiance! They actually knew of each other years ago but it wasn’t until recently that they really hit it off and started dating.
As soon as we pulled up, Michael said, “Wait, is that them?!”. The only car in the driveway at Seven Springs (their wedding venue!) was a beautiful Porsche! We quickly found out that Chris is the epitome of a “car guy” and he loves sports cars. I’m not usually one to gravitate towards shooting couples with their cars but for Chris’s sake (and because his car is REALLY photogenic), we took a few portraits with the second love of his life! :)
While I love their images and I love the recent paint updates at Seven springs (the lighter colored building make for gorgeous backdrops!) …. my favorite part of this shoot was our time together. I had a chance to catch up with Elise and Michael got to go on a joy ride in the sports car with Chris! We wrapped up their shoot right at the time evening thunderstorms were rolling in! It was perfectly timed!
I hope you enjoy these favorites of mine!!! And sadly, these two are getting married on a date that we’re not available and VERY close to my due date! I’m so sad that they won’t be on the blog again but I just know that it’s going to be the most beautiful day and Elise is going to make a stunning bride!!!!
Oh, this wedding day!! What a beautiful Texan dream! I met Melanie when she attended one of our workshops years ago in our home. She had the sweetest spirit and such a kindness about her. I remember loving how she made personal marketing her own and did headshots in a pile of Skinny Pop!! I loved her creativity and her ability to envision what she wanted in her brand.
My review of the Canon EOS R6 after shooting a full wedding day is LIVE on Youtube! I was so nervous to use a brand new camera system for full wedding day… I had my Mark IV ready in my bag just in case… but thankfully, I never had to use it! I was really hoping that I would love it and feel comfortable with it….
This wedding venue may look familiar to some of you who have been following us for a while! I photographed Meghan’s brother’s wedding a few years ago at this very same farm and venue!
Natural light photographers…. (flash photographers, we know how you would handle these scenarios and that’s awesome for your style! This is for the natural light folks!)
I’ve been hoping for this day for a very long time…. but I wasn’t sure that it would ever come. That sounds dramatic but let me explain. I LOVE my website company. Showit is incredible and the more I learn about and experience other platforms for hosting and creating custom websites, the more I realize, they aren’t really, truly “custom” at all. Showit is the website design platform for the creative. Hands-down. It’s so powerful, so intuitive and so easy to use. Years ago, Showit created a way to implement a Showit theme onto a Wordpress blog!!! Genius! I couldn’t wait for my blog to be a Showit blog…. but it never happened.
If you are like me and you’re a natural light wedding photographer, you may not love using the Canon 600 EX-RT flashes. But they are so necessary!
