I had the privilege of documenting two weddings this past weekend. (My first double header!) One at the beautiful Historic Kinloch and the other the next morning in Harrisonburg! Talk about a long drive at 1am! Both were so beautiful but so different! That is why this job is so awesome. Yes, I do that same thing over and over again but really, it’s never the same AT ALL. When I saw Rachel’s dress, I leaned over to one of her (hilarious) bridesmaids and said “This never gets old” and it really doesn’t! Every weekend I am surprised, challenged and stretched in order to document that wedding the best I possibly can! Being at the Kinloch again, I was challenged not to do what I already know. Emily and Tim’s wedding was GORGEOUS but I wanted Rachel and Ryan’s to stand out. This was a totally different wedding and I didn’t want to copy the same dress shots, the same portrait locations, etc. Challenges like this are good because I am forced to be more creative than normal!

I was really happy with the way this wedding turned out. It helps when you have a bride and groom willing to do WHATEVER… like climb in wheat fields! It was also so fun to see their two families come together and celebrate. I loved meeting them and watching them dance the night away! Ryan and Rachel, what an amazing day you had! The rain held off, the sunlight was perfect and everyone was so excited to celebrate the beginning of your new life together as husband and wife! Thank you for being just plain awesome and for allowing me to be a part of your big day! Have an AMAZING time in ITALY! So jealous!

This teacup has absolutely nothing to do with the wedding but I liked it!
Their ceremony location is just one of many at the Historic Kinloch and it’s one of my favorites!
The light during the ceremony was awesome! Strong, but awesome!
Always seem to get BIG tree shots at the Kinloch. The oaks there are so impressive!
LOVED how Rach set the Maid of Honor and Best man apart! Isn’t that neat?
I said “Hey, um, Rach you wouldn’t want to get in the wheat would you?” and she replied “I actually think that would be cool!” I squealed! They got about 200 “cool” points for that one!
Rachel you are stunning! One of my favorites from the whole day!

Oh where do I begin? This wasn’t just another wedding for me. This was a legacy KJ Wedding and I have been looking forward to it ever since my first email from Danny and Megan!
I’m really excited about this YouTube video because I know that it resonates with ALL photographers who photograph PEOPLE!!
Have you ever walked into a client experience and realized “oh wow, this is not what I was expecting?” ….
