There’s just something special about the country. Everything seems to happen at a slower pace… there’s less pressure of “performance”…everybody knows everybody…no stop lights…. no traffic. I love where I grew up. I traveled a lot in high school and saw a lot of the world. I remember coming back from those travels and how I always loved just being HOME. Growing up in little Sparta, VA with good friends and sweet families surrounding us was such a blessing. It felt safe and comfortable, and now that I’ve grown up and experienced the world outside of that community, I’m realizing just how rare it was.
There was a group of family friends whose kids all grew up together. If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ve seen a lot of those weddings! Anna, Katie, Corinne, Caroline, etc! One of our greatest joys in this business is that we’ve had the opportunity to be a part of so many weddings of our life long friends!!
I’ve known Michael Beasley since he was a toddler. I’ve probably NEVER just called him “Michael”… he’s always been “Michael Beasley” in our family! He has been my brother’s best friend since they were little kids, and it doesn’t matter how long they go without seeing each other, they can always pick up where they left off. They’ve walked through a lot together, but I think it’s safe to say that this year was a special one for their friendship because they stood beside one another on their wedding days just a few months a part!!
Katlynn came into Michael’s life in high school, and since MY Michael and I started dating in high school, their story is so special to us. These two have so much in common. From their careers to their love for country living!
Michael’s grandma and mom wore these pearls on their wedding days! Michael’s little sister does hair and makeup, and she’s amazing! Katlynn you’re beautiful!!!! Reading Michael’s letter…. Michael’s sweet momma watching her new daughter read a letter from her son… Gosh. I was in tears. I have the most amazing job! These two… if you’ve followed us for YEARS… you may recognize them! They were OUR flower girl and ring bearer!!! These four! My dad and brother have SO many memories with Michael and Todd! I’ve known these two since they were babies. I told them to do a “model” face and then immediately regretted because it made them look SO OLD!!!!!! (But aren’t they beautiful?!) Loved this sweet candid of Michael and his momma. Let me interrupt the wedding pics for a few baby pics! How adorable is my nephew? He could seriously be a Gerber baby model. We love him so much!!! That’s my girl! Big smile and little bear ears!
I love the way Todd is looking at him! We love this sweet family! And these sweet families! Ps. Remember their wedding?! Now they have the cutest little guy!!! Perfectly diffused GLOW! (Photographers…. I can’t wait to teach you more about this soon!!) This flower girl stole the show! My family! Remember Corey and Morgan’s wedding!? It has definitely been “wedding season” this year for my family and our family friends!!!!
