You just met these two!! A few weeks ago I was shooting a wedding outside of Lynchburg and the next morning I met Cody and Mindy for their engagement session since they were close by! Mindy had already sent me some pics of the two of them and so I knew how adorable they were ahead of time! However, I was not only blown away at their exterior beauty but I fell in love with who they are as a couple. They are just amazing! The more I learn about them, the more I love them. On the wedding day, Mindy told me that her dad had a rule that Cody needed to live in the same area as Mindy for at least a year before they were engaged. I love this because I like daddy’s that are protective over their girls. My dad never had a rule like that but he definitely had expectations for who I chose to spend the rest of my life with. He wanted me to be taken care of and treated well.
Any good dad wants the best for his daughter and so Cody did what he needed to do and he moved. After a year they were engaged and when his bride came walking down the aisle last Thursday, I’m sure it felt so surreal for him! Tears were streaming down his face when Mindy’s dad handed her over to him as the ceremony began. I’m so glad I knew the back story of these two because it made me realize just how important that split-second moment was for them.
Cody and Mindy are so in love and it’s evident in every interaction. They just wanted to be married. They didn’t care that it poured right before the ceremony or that the bottom of her dress was dirty… they just wanted to be husband and wife!! The skies cleared right as the ceremony began and they were married under the Natural Bridge of Virginia! So cool!! Enjoy some of my favorites from this amazing wedding day!!!
