This session was just as sweet as it looks. We spent the evening with Megan and Tim in the country outside of Harrisonburg, Virginia. We were tucked away in the rolling hills in between beautiful fields and family farms. It reminded me all over again why I just love Virginia. We really have it all… beaches, mountains, history, and great schools! JMU, while it did play a role in Tim and Megan’s story, isn’t actually where it started!
Tim and Megan met and really got to know one another while they were on staff at a summer camp. Their story carried back to campus and they started dating. This gorgeous location wasn’t just a random spot I found in the mountains outside of Harrisonburg; it’s a location that Megan recommended because it’s a part of their story. This is where they would take friends who were visiting, where they would escape campus life on dates and where they would ride scooters together!! How fun?! I think one of my favorite moments throughout our entire evening together was when we were ending their shoot and Megan said quietly, “Well, we do have our scooters in the back of the car”. I think my response was, “What?! Omg YES!!! Go get them!” haha! The view was magnificent but the finale with the scooter riding was just the icing on the cake!
We love Megan and Tim! We love their sweet relationship, we love how Tim can have us all cracking up and we love what God is calling them to as a newlywed couple. It is such an honor to be the ones that get to capture this special season of their lives! Enjoy their engagement pictures… especially the last few!! Smiling and scooting at the same time is really quite a talent!!
As a professional photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless family portraits over the years. Each session presents a unique set of challenges, from managing energetic children to finding the perfect backdrops.
As a photographer, I’ve often found myself in situations where the location seemed lackluster or uninspiring. It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of the perfect setting, but the reality is that we don’t always have the luxury of shooting in the most visually stunning locations.
We rescheduled this shoot with the Smith family once because of a threat of rain. It wasn’t a totally horrible forecast but if there’s one thing that I learned about Colleen when I photographed her wedding, it’s that she loves the GLOW!
What’s better than doing a family session for one KJ couple? Photographing TWO and adding in Nonna and Grandpa!
As a professional wedding photographer, I’ve encountered my fair share of editing challenges on the job.
Have you ever closed out of Lightroom unhappy with the end result?
