hey friends, i'm katelyn

the term “eye candy”??  Well you’re about to experience some “Eye Candy” in about 30 seconds after you read this and view Ryan and Annamarie’s post! Oh. my. gosh. What as gorgeous day!! From beginning to end! The locations, the details, the people…. it was wonderful! I knew Anna was detail oriented and we had talked about some of her ideas but I had no clue how everything had come together! I loved it ALL!! Ryan and Annamarie were married last Saturday and I have been looking forward to this one ALL YEAR! People have actually asked me, “When’s the TEAL TRUCK couple’s wedding”?! (Referring to their engagement session!)

I’m happy to say that the TEAL TRUCK made another appearance on their wedding day and I’m so excited about their portraits!

.

I remember Annamarie emailing me last year and explaining that she was getting married and was so excited. She also told me that her dad passed away four years ago after a battle with cancer.  Anna went on to say that God’s timing is perfect and soon after she said goodbye to her dad, Ryan came into her life. Throughout the whole day, her dad was remembered and his life was celebrated. It was a special day and I loved seeing people remember his life.  Instead of a father/daughter dance, they played a slide show of Anna and her dad from the time she was born, until their last picture together. As we watched snapshot after snapshot, the tears started flowing and as I looked around the room, every one’s attention was on those images.  Those pictures captured the life of a wonderful man and those photos are CHERISHED.  It’s at weddings like this that I realize how much I love my job. One day, years and years from now, people will look back on these images and and remember how happy and joyful Annamarie and Ryan were on the day they got married and started their life together. Pictures matter. They matter SO much and I’m so thankful that I was able to capture their day for them.

.

Ryan and Annamarie, you had the most unbelievable wedding day! Everything was perfect.. even the WEATHER! You are truly an amazing couple with huge hearts for the Lord and that was evident throughout your whole day. Thank you so much for allowing me to come into your life!! I love you both!!!

going to the chapel….

diy bridecoral bridesmaids dressesJust have to point this out…. Ryan had already seen Annamarie when she came down the aisle…. but as you can tell, he was still JUST as excited. A lot of couples are worried that a “First Look” takes away from the moment the bride comes down the aisle and since I’ve experienced one first hand… I can tell you that that’s not true. I don’t think anything can change that moment! It’s powerful!

Ryan and Anna wrote letters to their parents and read them to them during the ceremony! Why didn’t I think of that!?

Their ceremony was amazing!

Married!!!!

Some portraits in front of the Virginia Center for Architecture!

Definitely a favorite!

Work it girl!!!! LOVE this!

Are you ready for all these reception details?! Whew! Here we go!! Love the idea of “Reception” programs. Sometimes guests can get a little antsy if they don’t know what is happening next! This is s simple way to keep the reception flowing!

Favors! Jar’s of Mayme’s jam!

A wall of ferns?! Thats awesome.

How cute is this cake display?! AND that flower on the cake is edible!!!

How awesome is this idea! It’s a coat rack with engagement pictures hanging from it! Anna you’re a genius!

What I LOVED about their wedding was that it was in the early afternoon and the the reception was considered a “Brunch” and they had an “Ice Coffee Bar” and a “Parfait Bar”!

First Dance!

Then we went on the rooftop for a few minutes!

And they’re off to Mexico!!
