The winter months are unpredictable. In January in DC, there could be snow, it could be 20 degrees or it could be 50 degrees and perfect. We enjoyed the second option on Saturday. The sun was out we had beautiful light for Joe and Blythe’s wedding day! It’s amazing how many winter days are grey and dreary. I’ve been so blessed recently to have been shooting on the BEST days of winter thus far!!! Both of my wedding this weekend were filled with gorgeous afternoon light that was just soft enough to get a beautiful glow! Joe and Blythe have had a crazy year of planning. They have been engaged for quite some time but had to wait to see what Joe’s plan were with his work.
So Blythe waited patiently and finally, I got the email!! She asked if I was available on January 5th and I was! HAPPY DAY!!! I have just loved getting to know this girl over the last year and I was so thankful that I was able to be a part of her wedding day. Michael and I arrived at the Shoreham Omni Hotel on Saturday morning ready to rock and roll. You can’t tell by the exterior of the hotel, but it’s a glamorous location! I walked in and I was shocked! The Shoreham is used for inaugural balls and it’s just stunning!! After spending the morning shooting all of Blythe’s Kate Spade details, it was time for their first look. The thing I love the most about these two is that their love for one another is so visible. You can just tell by the look in Joe’s eyes that he’s crazy about her and let me tell you, that’s AMAZING for pictures!!! I was one HAPPY photographer when I shot their engagements and now their wedding day. Joe and Blythe are an awesome pair with amazing friends that surrounded them on their wedding day. Michael and I loved spending the day with this incredible couple and their families. From beginning to end, their day was perfect. I cannot WAIT to share the story of their day through these images! Enjoy the first wedding of 2013!!

Here it is! Post one of twelve! I’m committing, once again, to blogging my favorite images each month of Everett’s first year and I’m excited about it because I know from past experience that this is truly the BEST motivation and accountability to stay on top of family editing!!
It’s hard to believe I’m writing this… my fourth birth story in four years. I’ve given birth in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Just typing that makes me tired….. and so grateful…. unbelievably grateful. These last four years have been the best and hardest of my life. We cherish being parents and welcoming a new baby is hands down the most incredible thing we have ever experienced in our 18 years together. I’m so excited to introduce you to our newest member of our family and tell you the story of how he came into this world!
Whether you’re brand new to business or have been in business for quite a while, this brand new Youtube video is for you! Michael and I, early on in our business, struggled to relinquish tasks to other professionals outside of our business. Really…. It was more of MY STRUGGLE than his.
Welcome to December’s Student Spotlight!! It’s a new month and we have new photographers to celebrate!! I’m so thankful for them and for their willingness to give of their time and share their stories!!!
This shoot was supposed to happen about a month earlier on the exact day that leftover rains from a hurricane swept through Washington. I’m so thankful we rescheduled! Our reschedule date was absolute perfection! The temperature, the glow, the locations…. it was beautiful! Tyler and Abby’s outfit choices were wonderful and the leaves were full of color and still hanging on the trees.
