Michael and I were excited about this wedding for so many reasons. We love this couple, we loved seeing some old friends and we were REALLY excited to photograph a wedding on Christopher Newport University’s campus because it’s just stunning. They just recently finished the exterior of the administration building right before graduation and it will take your breath away. This building is just jaw dropping. I can’t believe our little university has become such a gorgeous gem of a school!! We loved it so much when we were there but I think we’re more impressed with it now than we ever were! It’s the most gorgeous place for a wedding!
I remember Mike and Lauren emailing and sharing that they would be getting married in the Chapel and I was so excited! I’ve been wanting to shoot a FULL CNU wedding for a while now and this was my chance! Mike and Lauren have been waiting for this day and it was perfect. If every June wedding could be 68 degrees that would be amazing!! They shared their first look under the colonnade at the fine art center and it was gorgeous. Lauren wanted to see Michael for the first time under the arches and it was perfect. Those portraits were some of my favorites from the entire day!
I’ve known Lauren since my days at CNU being on the worship team together, so this day was rather surreal to me. I remember late nights at rehearsal talking about how I would photograph her wedding one day. Back then, I had JUST started. I was so new and I remember thinking “Really, you want ME to shoot it?! I’m not even that good!”. But when you’re a college student and you really only know of one photographer, you’re going to love her stuff. :) Sure enough, 6-7 years later, here we are! I was photographing Lauren’s wedding!! I love this girl and I couldn’t be more excited for her new life that she’s starting with Mike. He’s the sweetest man with such a gentle, kind spirit about him and I just loved being the one that got to capture their day!! Enjoy their wedding through our eyes!!
